Contest

Entries for the 2011 Alaska Press Club contest honoring Alaska journalism in the year 2011 are now being accepted. Entries are $10 for Alaska Press Club members and $15 for nonmembers.

Deadline has been extended to Tuesday, Feb. 21 at midnight.

Like last year, this year’s contest will only receive entries through our contest web site. You will be able to upload documents, images, multimedia and URLs, and return to edit your entry up to the deadline, midnight on FEB. 21, 2012.

To nominate a person or group for the Howard Rock/Tom Snapp First Amendment Award, please email alaskapressclubinfo@gmail.com.

Submit your entry

1) (PDF) Rules and Competitions
2) Visit: betternewspapercontest.com/login
3) In the “Contest” drop-down window, select 2011 Alaska Press Club contest
4) In the “News Organization” drop-down window, find your organization
5) Password for everyone at first is: BNC
6) Login! If you are the first from your organization to login – create a unique password for your organization and share with your co-workers. This is what they’ll need to use to login and submit their entries. If someone from your organization has already entered: Get the password from them.

If you have access to the APRN FTP, the Alaska Press Club has a folder called “AKPressClub” where you could store files for this contest. Please place files in the folder “2011 Awards.” Please save files at MP3s.

Although individuals can submit their own entries, accounts in the contest form are broken up by media organizations, including freelance. The first person to submit an entry from their organization will be asked to make a unique password for the organization’s account. Please make that password and share it with your co-workers. You will only have to do this once.
