From Start to Funded: How to write a grant for you and your newsroom

“Grant Writing: From Start to Funded” led by Meredith Noble at learngrantwriting.org is a month-long cohort through the month of November fully funded by the Alaska Press Club with support from Atwood Foundation and Knight Foundation in partnership with Rasmuson Foundation. Alaska Press Club members are encouraged to sign up for this 30-day class — first-come, first-served.

This step-by-step program will get you thinking like a funder, help you find grants and write winning proposals.

Cohort members can expect around two to three hours per work each week, or 20 hours for the month — although participants will get more out of the course if they spend additional time on a real-world project. Those who register for the class will be expected to complete the online course during the 30-day challenge in November. You will have access to the course indefinitely. There are four modules and about four hours of recorded video training.

You will have two opportunities per week to get your specific questions answered during group coaching calls. There are group coaching calls every Tuesday at 11 a.m. with other students in the program. A second custom time will be available for members of Alaska Press Club (the time is yet to be determined).

Those interested in participating in the course can fill out this Google Form.

Confirmation for your admission into the cohort will be via email.
